June Birchbox

I received the following:

  • Cynthia Rowley Beauty- Black Eyeliner
  • English Laundry- Signature for Her perfume
  • LAQA & Co. - Sheer Lip Lube Pencil
  • Perlier - Body Cream
  • Sarahpotempa - The Half Up

My review…

*Eyeliner- I received it in black. It’s very pigmented. However, it fades throughout the day. Urban Decay’s 24/7 eyeliner is better. Full-size of 0.04 oz is $16. Would I purchase it? No

*Perfume- I love floral scents. It smells like a spring garden. It has notes of rose geranium with a woodsy finish. I like it. Full-size of 3.4 oz is $90. Would I purchase it? Yes

*Lip Pencil (full-size)- I received the Bees Knees shade. It’s a sheer baby pink shade. It goes on really smooth and I like that it’s sheer. I feel like the new lip pencils and lip glosses are growing on me. Full-size of 0.07 oz is $18. Would I purchase it? Maybe

*Body Cream- I received the shea almond scent. Even though it’s a body cream it’s not thick. It smells like shea butter. It rubs in quickly and my skin felt moisturized. The sample is the perfect size for travel. Full-size of 6.7 oz is $28.45. That’s an odd price lol. Would I purchase it? Hmm it’s on the pricey side but I love a good lotion so I might in the future.

*The Half Up (Full-size)- My hair is short so I have no use for this. I’ll probably give it away. Full-size is $9. Would I purchase it? No

June Ipsy Bag

I love the Rebecca Minkoff bag! I’ll definitely be using it as a travel make-up bag :-)

I received the following:

  • Marc Anthony- Dream Waves Beach Spray
  • NYX- Butter Gloss
  • Realtree- Perfume
  • Ofra- Eyebrow Pencil
  • Be A Bombshell- Lash Out Mascara

My review..

*Beach Spray- I’m black with relaxed hair so this type of spray will not work on my hair. So a wasted sample basically. Full-size of 4.2 fl oz is $8.99. Would I purchase it? No

*Lip Gloss (Full-size)- This smells really good. It’s a nude pinkish color that looks good on my skin. It’s not sticky and glides on with minimal effort. However, I’m not a huge lip gloss person. But if you are I definitely recommend this for you. Full-size is $4.99. Would I purchase it? No

*Perfume- It’s definitely a feminine scent. It’s a spring scent. I like it. Full-size of 3.4 oz is $24.99. Would I purchase it? Yes

*Eyebrow Pencil (Full-size)- I received the brown shade. There’s no number or name on it. It goes on smoothly and I really like it. Full-size is $13. Would I purchase it? Yes

*Mascara (Full-size)- It’s alright. It coated my lashes but I wouldn’t purchase it. The formula was on the dry side. Full-size is $15. Would I purchase it? No

Review- Bath & Body Works Candles

image

I recently purchased the following candles from Bath & Body Works:

  • Tiki Beach
  • Turquoise Waters
  • Watermelon Lemonade
  • Caribbean Escape

Now for my review..

*Tiki Beach- It smells like coconut, but not in an overpowering way. It has an ok throw. It will fill up a room but not a full house. The description states: A scent as warm as the sun! A luxurious blend of toasted coconut, vanilla musk and orchids brings the glamour of a resort-stay to you.

*Turquoise Waters- This is my favorite candle out of the four. It smells so good and refreshing. It has a good throw too. The description states: Be transported to the Pacific’s turquoise waters with an ocean-fresh blend of bergamot, day lily & sea spray

*Watermelon Lemonade- This smells like fresh watermelon. Like you’re walking through a field or something. The description states: Refresh your thirst for spring with this pleasing mixture of watermelon ice, sparkling water and freshly squeezed Meyer lemons.

*Caribbean Escape- This one smells the strongest and like guava to me. But it smells good. If you have a sensitive smell than this may give you a headache. The description states:Dive into this blend of tropical melon, raspberry nectar and lemon mellowed by creamy coconut milk and raw sugarcane for a fragrant and exotic escape.

Bath & Body Works candles are $9 today only. There is also $1 shipping on orders of $25 or more. If you’re into candles check them out at: www.bathandbodyworks.com

Review- Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Gel Eyeliner

Rimmel recently changed their waterproof gel eyeliner. Overall, I like it. It’s definitely waterproof. I tested it lol. And it didn’t budge. It also goes on smoothly and lasts all day. As you can see from the second pic, it’s very pigmented. It did come with a brush, but I usually throw those away and use my own brushes.

The only thing I don’t like about it is that it starts to dry out within a month or so. What I do is put a drop of oil in it and swirl it around and that fixes that issue. I never used the previous formulation of this eyeliner so I am unable to compare it to that. However, I do like this a LOT more than Maybelline’s 24 hr gel eyeliner. That eyeliner always seemed to coat my brushes and was such a pain to get off of them. Whereas, Rimmel’s eyeliner is much easier to clean off of my brushes. You can purchase this for around $6 at your local drugstore. I definitely recommend it!

May Birchbox

I received the following:

  • Beauty Protector - Protect & Shampoo
  • Beauty Protector - Protect & Condition
  • CoTZ - Face Natural Skin Tone SPF 40
  • Pixi - Shea Butter Lip Balm
  • SmartyPants - All-In-One Gummy Vitamins For Adults

Now for my review…

* Shampoo- I love that it’s sulfate and paraben free. It’s nice but definitely didn’t leave me with any sort of wow factor. Full-size of 8 oz is $21.95. Would I purchase it? No

* Conditioner- It’s a nice, thick conditioner. I like that it has some natural ingredients and love that it’s paraben free. It did a decent job of moisturizing my hair. However, I like my current conditioner more. Full-size of 8 oz is $21.95. Would I purchase it? No

* Sunscreen- It doesn’t really blend into my skintone. Once it dries it leaves this off-color cast over my face. I love that the coverage is SPF 40. I also like that it’s not thick and that it blends in quickly. However, I wouldn’t purchase it due to the off-color cast it leaves. Would I purchase it? An obvious no

* Lip Balm (full-size)- I received the Pixi pink shade. It’s the exact same shade as the cover. However, it doesn’t look good on me. The shea butter makes it very moisturizing though. Full-size is $8. Would I purchase it? No

Lifestyle Extra

* Gummy Vitamins- I didn’t like these. The sample included two but with a full pack you’re supposed to take 6 a day. Who wants to do that? I don’t. But more importantly, I thought they were really sour. Full-size of 180 vitamins is $29.99. Would I purchase them? No

May Ipsy Bag

I received the following:

  • Hey Honey Take It Off- Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask
  • Jersey Shore Sun- Sans Tan Pure White Mineral Sunscreen
  • Pur-lisse - Pur-moist Hydra-Balance Moisturizer
  • Pacifica - Eyeshadow
  • Avène- Thermal Spring Water

On to my review…

* Peel- This was definitely more like a peel than a mask. I ended up washing it off instead of peeling it off. I didn’t see a major difference in my skin. Full-size of 1.7 oz is $35. Would I purchase it? No

* Sunscreen- It’s super thick and white. So you can imagine the difficult time I had rubbing it in. This is a sunscreen that you need to put on awhile before you go out. Not only does it take awhile to rub in, but it also takes awhile to absorb. I’m not a fan of it. Full-size of 2 oz is $15. Would I purchase it? No

* Moisturizer- I actually liked this. I have really oily skin and when I woke up in the morning my skin didn’t have a film of oil over it. It seemed to absorb well. It’s actually marketed for people with normal to dry skin so I was a little surprised that it didn’t make my face really oily. It also has some nice ingredients, such as peptides. Peptides are supposed to aide your skin in producing more collagen. Basicallly, to make your skin look more youthful. Full-size of 1.7 oz is $55. Would I purchase it? No because of the price. I recently purchased a night cream from Vitacost that I want to try out.

* Eyeshadow- This is mineral eyeshadow. I received duo #1 (Celestial & Opal). The lighter shade has some pink glitter in it. I like it. It’s kind of a dual-chrome shadow. The other shade is a shimmery gold. Both shades are nice. I believe that these shades are from Pacifica’s Enlighten Eye Brightening Palette, which is four full-size eyeshadows for $14. Would I purchase it? I don’t know because when I look at the picture I don’t really see the lighter shade that’s in the duo that I have.

* Thermal Spring Water- It’s for your skin, not to drink. You spray it on your face and it’s supposed to refresh your skin, as well as reduce inflammation, itching, etc. It is very refreshing. It reminds me of those sprays that you take on flights to refresh your skin before you get off the plane. I’m not sure what the formal name for them is lol. Full-size of 10.58 oz is $18. Would I purchase it? Maybe. I’m not one to spray my face throughout the day and honestly have forgotten to use it most of the month. However, it is a nice product and if you’ll remember to use it throughout the day, then I would recommend it for you.

April Birchbox

I received the following:

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills- Clear Brow Gel
  • BeeKind- Body Lotion
  • Davines- Oi Shampoo
  • Davines- Oi Conditioner
  • Shea Terra Organics- Rose Hips Black Soap Deep Pore Facial Cleanser
  • Kind Snacks- Maple Pumpkin Seeds

Now for my review…

* Brow Gel (full-size)- It’s nice. It kept my brows in check. Full-size of 0.28 oz is $22. Would I purchase it? Not at that price. It’s nice but Wet N Wild’s brow gel works just as well.

* Body Lotion- I love that it has no parabens. However, I don’t like it. It’s thin and has a strong smell. Full-size of 8 oz is $15. Would I purchase it? No

* Oi Shampoo- It smells amazing but matted up my hair. I won’t be using it again. Full-size of 280 ml is $26. Would I purchase it? No

* Oi Conditioner- It’s a thick, white conditioner. It also smells good and left my hair moisturized. I liked it. Full-size of 250 ml is $32. Would I purchase it? Yes

* Facial Cleanser- African black soap is said to provide a deep clean with anti-aging properties. It cleaned my face well but it’s too soon to tell if it’s blemish fighting or anti-aging. Full-size of 4 oz is $16. Would I purchase it? Maybe

Lifestyle Extra

* Kind Snack- It was pretty tasty. I ended up buying three boxes of the dark chocolate chunk flavor. Full-size of 3 boxes(with 5 bars in each box) is $11.88. Would I purchase it? I already have!

April Ipsy Bag

I received the following:

  • CoastalScents- Eyeshadow Brush
  • Urban Decay- 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil
  • Dr. Brandt- Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant
  • Pop! Goes The Shadow- Eyeshadow
  • Starlooks- Luscious Longwear Lip Pencil

Now for my review…

* Eyeshadow Brush- It’s nice. It applies eyeshadow well. Full-size is $2.50. Would I purchase it? Yes

* Eye Pencil- It’s nice and doesn’t tug on my eyelid. It’s very pigmented for an eye pencil. Full-size is $20. Would I purchase it? Yes

* Skin Exfoliant- It has a slight grainy feel to it. It kind of tingled when I put it on. However, I didn’t see a major difference in my skin and will continue to use the facial scrub that I’m currently using. Full-size of 2 oz is $78. Would I purchase it? No.

* Eyeshadow (full-size)- I received the champagne shade. It’s a gorgeous, shimmery shade. Full-size is $13. Would I purchase it? Maybe. I have a lot of eyeshadows already, but not this particular shade.

* Lip Pencil- I received the Naked shade. It’s a light pink shade. The shade doesn’t match my lips. I’m not really into lip pencils anyway. Full-size s $14. Would I purchase it? No
