March Birchbox

image

I received the following:

  • Air Repair- Rescue Balm
  • Gilchrist & Soames - London Collection Body Lotion
  • Keimes- Cleanshine Energizing Shampoo
  • Pop Beauty- Cat Eyes Black Dahlia
  • LA Fresh- Oil-free Face Cleanser
  • LA Fresh- Waterproof Makeup Remover
  • Ghirardelli- Chocolate

Now for my review…

* Rescue Balm- It’s more of an ointment than a chapstick or balm. It works great though! My lips get really dry so I always have lip balm. Full-size of .9 oz is $12. Would I purchase it? Yes

* Lotion- This smells so good. It smells like a lotion that you would get at a fancy hotel. The smell is not overpowering. It’s very moisturizing. Full-size of 8 oz is $16. Would I purchase it? Yes

* Shampoo- It’s a peppermint and macadamia shampoo with silk protein. It’s a gel consistency. I’ve only used it once so I can’t give a true review of it yet. It did clean my hair well and my scalp felt clean but not stripped. Full-size of 250ml is $9.50. Would I purchase it? It’s too soon to tell.

* Eyeliner (full-size)- It’s a shimmery, dark purple pencil eyeliner. I really like the packaging. It has a slight slant to it and you just twist the bottom for more product to come out. It applies nicely with no drag. Full-size is $16. Would I purchase it? Maybe. It’s a little on the pricey side.

Beauty Extras

* Cleanser- A one packet sample is not enough to give an accurate review of the product. I love that it’s 100% biodegradable and paraben and fragrance-free. It cleaned my face well. Full-size of 10 wipes is $4.79. Would I purchase it? No

* Makeup Remover- This was also a one packet sample. It’s also biodegradable and paraben-free. It worked ok. It got the job done but it wasn’t the best thing ever. Full-size of 18 wipes is $9.99. Would I purchase it? No

* Chocolate- I received the cherry tango flavor. It’s dark chocolate w/bits of cherry and almonds. I’m not a fan of cherry or almonds so I gave it to someone else lol. They said it was good though.

I received the following:

  • bareminerals - Marvelous Moxie Lipstick
  • Pixie- Flawless Beauty Primer
  • NYX- Love In Rio Eyeshadow
  • Chella - Eyeliner Pen

Now for my review…

* Marvelous Moxie Lipstick- I received the Get Ready Shade. It’s a mauve shade. It’s nice and creamy. Even though I’m not a lipstick woman I really like it. Full-size is $18. Would I purchase it? Yes. I know, I’m a little shocked myself lol.

* Primer- I don’t wear foundation or concealer so I probably won’t use this primer. It’s sheer, beige, and dries to a shimmer. So it will give your skin a glow. Full-size is $22. Would I purchase it? No.

* Eyeshadow (full-size) - I received the meet me at the copa palette. It’s a neutral palette. The three colors are: shimmery taupe, champagne, and a shimmery slate. I usually don’t wear neutral shades but these are nice. Full-size is $6. Would I purchase it? Yes

* Eyeliner Pen (full-size)- I received the Indigo blue shade. It’s a gorgeous dark blue liquid liner. However, it doesn’t smell good and sometimes the tip kind of dries out. So I would have to press it on a piece of paper, then try applying again. Full-size is $24. Would I purchase it? No

This month’s bag was designed by artist Klari Reis

Overall, the value of this month’s bag is good. I received two full-size samples that have a combined value of $30. Whereas, Ipsy is $10/month.

February Birchbox

I received the following:

  • Beauty Protector- Protect & Oil
  • Dr. Brandt- Pored No More Pore Refiner
  • Juicy Couture- Couture LA LA Malibu
  • Ruby Wing- Color Changing Nail Polish
  • 32 Oral Care- Effervescent Breath Crystals

Now for review…

* Oil- It’s thick but not greasy. As in it sinks in well. You only need to use a little bit. I love that it’s paraben-free! Full-size of 4 oz is $26. Would I purchase it? No because I like the current oils I’m using more than this one. Such as my jojoba oil.

* Pore Refiner- I don’t wear foundation so I probably won’t use this. Full-size is. Would I purchase it? No

*Malibu perfume- I love the smell of mandarin! Even though this has a sweet note the mandarin note prevails. This is my favorite Juicy perfume. Full-size of 2.5 oz is $72. Would I purchase it? Yes

* Nail Polish- I received the poppy shade. It’s a hot pink that’s supposed to turn burgundy in sunlight. It’s an awesome idea. I like it! Full-size is $10. Would I purchase it? Yes

* Breathe Crystals- I received two flavors: honey and peppermint. I only tried the peppermint flavor. I don’t like the idea of this. It felt too overpowering in my mouth. Full-size of 30 count is $14.75. Would I purchase them? No

February Ipsy Bag

I received the following:

  • J. Cat Beauty- Eyelashes
  • Pacifica- Hawaiian Ruby Guava Body Butter
  • Zoya- Nail Polish
  • Eyetini- Cordial Cream Shadow + Base
  • Pop Beauty- Lip Gloss

Now for my review…

* Eyelashes (full-size)- I received the EL66 ones. I don’t wear false eyelashes so I’m probably going to give these away to a friend. However, I did touch them and they’re soft like real eyelashes. Full-size is $4. Would I purchase it? No

* Body Butter- I love that it’s 100% vegan and cruelty-free. It smells amazing! Its like an orange creamsicle. But I guess it’s the guava. It’s the best smelling lotion I’ve ever used. Seriously! Full-size of 8 oz is $15. Would I purchase it? Yes

* Nail Polish (full-size)- I received the Odette shade. It’s a pretty, light purple. Great for spring! Full-size is $9. Would I purchase it? Yes

* Shadow Tint- I received the spiced rum shade. It’s a metallic bronze that you can use as a primer or an eyeshadow. Once it dries it doesn’t budge. It really stinks though. Full-size of .14 oz ranges from $15-$18. Would I purchase it? No. I like the Elf glitter primer more and already have an eyeshadow that’s similar to this shade.

* Lip Gloss- I received the fuchsia freesia shade. It’s a bubblegum pink. I don’t like it at all. The shade does not work w/my skin tone. Full-size of .3 oz is $16. Would I purchase it? No

January Birchbox

I received the following:

  • Burt’s Bees- Intense Hydration Day Lotion
  • 100% Pure- Fruit Pigmented Mascara
  • Fekkai- Brilliant Glossing Creme
  • Harvey Prince- Journey
  • Nail Rock- Glitter

Now for my review…

* Lotion- It’s very moisturizing. It has a slight smell, but nothing overpowering. It’s not really thick either, which is good since it’s a day lotion. Full-size of 1.8 oz is $18. Would I purchase it? Maybe. It’s a little pricey.

* Mascara- I like that it’s a natural product. It smells like blueberries! I love the packaging. It gets the job done. I found it to be more of a lengthening Mascara than a volumizing one. Full-size is $18. Would I purchase it? No

* Creme- It smells nice. It doesn’t have an overpowering smell. It does add shine to my hair without making it sticky, which I like. Full-size of 4 oz is $20. Would I purchase it? Yes

* Journey- It smells good. I like the woodsy elements of it. Full-size of 50 ml is $55. Would I purchase it? Yes

* Nail Rock (full-size)- It’s an interesting concept but I like it. You put on two coats of the polish, then dip your nail in the glitter. And once it dries you put a topcoat over it. That seals in the glitter nicely. Full-size is $7. Would I purchase it? Yes

Extra

There were these cute postcards that were in this month’s box. On the back they talk about confidence and happiness. It’s a cute and lovely touch.
